In the morning

Gaudí is mondially known by its architectural legacy. To get acquainted with his masterpieces the most practical is visiting " El Quadrat d'Or" area. It means Golden Square because of the concentration of relevant Modern Style buildings in the area, where the old catalan bourgeoisie settled their most fashionable flats in the period with the best architects of the moment:

It is fitted around Passeig de Gracia, the biggest straight street in this photo.

Get the corner to Calle Provença to admire the most preciated Modern Style jewel, Casa Milà o La Pedrera. It is the second Gaudí most famous masterpiece ( the first one is Sagrada Família ), the urban and functional one:

An available audioguide here: http://experiencias.barcelonahotels.es/podcasts/3-la-pedrera

In the other walkside of Passeig de Gracia, stroll down until Calle Aragó, where you will recognize Casa Batlló ( is the number 43 ) and Casa Ametller, right beside

From here you can get Sagrada Família by metro, in front of these 2 houses you find the station Passeig de Gràcia. Line 2, 2 stations, and you stop in Sagrada Família station.

The temple is not finished still, in this video you will see the final project in a digital mode format:

After walking up a tower to overview the city I would strongly recommend you to have lunch in "La Piazzenza", a restaurant in Avenida Gaudí, in a corner crossing with Calle Lepanto, very near to the temple. If it's spring or summertime, there is a relaxing terrace from where still you can sight Sagrada Família while you recover some energy with their great tapas.

In the afternoon

To get a general view of the legacy of the architect, visiting Parc Güell would complete it. If you travel by metro getting the blue line in Sagrada Família until Diagonal to change to green line until Vallcarca station would be the fastest option. From there you can walk up through Baixada de la Glòria street, some mechanical scalators up and you get one of the rear doors of the Park.

Visiting Parc Güell means relaxing, enjoying yourself because all of the Modern Style surprises you find along your stroll: a dragon, palm stoned forests to get lost, overviews to Barcelona, and a palace where you find the place where Gaudí lived. His studio, his furniture design, even his bed!

Here you  are a Parc Güell video:

Another audioguide in case you prefer to listen: http://experiencias.barcelonahotels.es/podcasts/14-parc-guell

As you finish the stroll in Parc Güell, going back to the hotel, having some dinner in any restaurant downtown Barcelona and the day is complete. In this link you will find a wide range to choose the type of food you feel like http://experiencias.barcelonahotels.es/recurso/en/restaurante-cafe
